Life’s good when you have things working as intended but life’s better when you have finer things to work for you such as this washing machine.
LG has done justice to this segment of their washing machines by providing all necessity features which bring peace of mind when it is time to wash clothes.
The sleek and robust design truly stand-out when you look at it and every operation is easy to select and with the press of a button, things get taken care of automatically.
You get several washing modes which can be selected using the mode dial on the top front panel and a digital display shows the time (approximate, not precise) and a few other indications of your washing cycle.
Hot water has three temperature settings for different fabrics and they work well but it is not selectable with Quick Wash (30 mins cycle) and probably with a couple of other modes too but I am yet to try them all.
Every wash cycle other than Quick Wash is well over an hour long and there is minimal noise during the wash cycle and it plays a short music after the cycle is complete. Rinse operation is good enough and the clothes come out almost dry and they will completely dry in air within a couple of hours.
Front load washing powder and liquid detergent are both compatible with the machine and do a decent job at washing depending on how dirty your clothes are. Some stains might require two continuous cycles but if you know how to use the machine properly, one cycle might be enough; appropriate amount unt if detergent and proper hot water setting.
There are various modes to wash different fabrics and wash times vary and there are also special modes to clean tbe drum with de-scaling powder too.
Three touch buttons are available on the touch section of the unit and holding down the “Stop” and “Start / Pause” buttons together for 3 seconds continuously enables / disables Child Lock but it does not lock the Power button which means the machine can be powered of by a playful kid – atleast no other functions work until unlocked.
Lid has a press and release mechanism to make it water tight for operation and is easy to operate and it will not open immediately upon power failure but will allow you to open it after 2 or 3 minutes of wait time.
Power cable (requires a 26 A socket the same as your electric Geyser) is adequately long to connect to a nearby wall socket and the drain pipe is fairly lengthy (over half a metre long may be); enough to use in most cases.
Do not forget to drain the tub manually from the front facing drain every month or so to make sure any gathered debris is timepy cleared; otherwise the tub won’t drain entirely after enough debris gathers.
Machine is sturdy and won’t shake if installed well – make sure to remove secure bolts after you keep the washing machine in place and also, install the rat net under the machine (installation service is free, so use it).
Machine is heavy as it should be and it is definitely worth the cost.

I’m facing serious issues with my LG washing machine:
The clothes are not getting cleaned properly – they come out completely dirty and wet.
The tub remains filled with water and the clothes are soaked and do not dry at all.
Water keeps flowing continuously from the drain pipe, even after the machine is turned off.
I raised a complaint with the LG team. A technician inspected it and confirmed that there is an issue, but said a higher-level technician will come and check it further.
I’m afraid to wash any clothes now, because the machine is making even clean clothes worse.
I feel like I made a mistake choosing this product. I was considering IFB or Bosch, but chose LG based on Amazon reviews, which now seem fake or misleading.
Serious Issue with LG Washing Machine – Please Read Before Buying
I’m facing a very serious issue with my LG washing machine.
Even if I put clean clothes for washing, they come out more dirty after the wash. There is clearly something wrong with the machine. I never expected it to perform this badly – the wash quality is horrible.
Please don’t trust Amazon reviews blindly.
I had used a Bosch front-load washing machine for 10 years, and the wash quality was always excellent. But with this LG machine, it’s been the worst experience. The clothes I put for washing are coming out dirtier than before – I don’t even know how to describe it.
And to make things worse, Amazon’s exchange policy is terrible. When the exchange pickup team came, the delivery agent and Amazon employee asked me for money and tried to give false complaints about the old machine to avoid taking it back.
Worst Experience with LG Washing Machine – Please Don’t Trust Amazon Reviews
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent purchase of an LG washing machine. Here’s my honest experience:
🔴 Washing Performance – Extremely Poor
Even good clothes come out dirtier after washing. The machine is clearly faulty or very poorly designed.
I’ve never seen a washing machine work this badly. Totally failed expectations.
🔴 Build Quality – Very Cheap
The body is made of thin, low-quality metal – looks and feels cheap.
Compared to Bosch or IFB, the build is nowhere close. I used a Bosch front-load washing machine for 10 years, and its performance and durability were far superior.
❗️Fake Reviews on Amazon
I made the mistake of trusting the highly-rated reviews on Amazon – now I realize many of them were likely fake or misleading.
This product does not deserve 4+ stars.
⚠️ Terrible Return & Exchange Policy by Amazon
When I tried to raise a return, the process was a nightmare.
During the exchange pickup, the Amazon agent and delivery person asked for money and gave false complaints to avoid taking the old unit.
Amazon’s return and exchange policies have become very poor recently, and it’s making me lose trust in the platform.

If you’re considering a washing machine, I strongly recommend Bosch or IFB – their performance, build quality, and reliability are far better than LG.

Has been 6+ months since the purchase of: LG 9 Kg, 5 Star, AI Direct Drive Technology, Steam, 6 Motion DD & Wi-Fi Fully-Automatic Front Load Washing Machine (FHP1209Z5M, Intelligent & Convenient Fabric Care, Allergy Care, Middle Black).
Good:
– Delivery and installation was good
– Works well – removes stains well, dries cloth also reasonably well
– No scary vibration with additional stand that installation person recommended and we purchased.
Bad (or Not so good):

– At times, we want to reduce the temperature, but somehow it is indirectly linked to other settings and can’t be controlled completely
