I bought the OBAGE Essential -5 2.1 Home Theatre System in October 2024, and it immediately made a strong impression. The vocals are crystal clear, and the bass is perfectly balanced—neither overwhelming nor underwhelming. This makes it ideal for long listening sessions, whether you’re enjoying 90s hits, ghazals, or the latest chart-toppers. This speaker shines with peaceful and sometimes peppy music, but it’s not designed for loud, booming sound.
The build quality is impressive for a system in this price range. The wooden construction of both the subwoofer and satellite speakers adds a premium feel, making it hard to believe it’s priced below ₹4,000.
Setting up the OBAGE Essential -5 was incredibly straightforward. The instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in no time. The HDMI ARC connection is a fantastic addition, seamlessly integrating with my TV setup.
The sound quality excels for podcasts and music, offering clear vocals and balanced bass. While movie watching is decent, it’s the musical experience where this system truly shines.
The remote control is functional and meets all expectations. It handles all necessary functions effectively without any issues.
One of the main reasons I bought this set was for Bluetooth listening, and it did not disappoint. The range is impressive, allowing me to play music from another room without any connectivity issues. Although it would be great if it supported connecting two devices simultaneously, that’s a minor quibble.
After a month of use, I encountered an issue with the left satellite speaker producing a muffled and cracking sound. I promptly shared a video of the problem with OBAGE customer care. They were incredibly responsive, observed the issue, and sent a replacement satellite speaker within 10 days. Their excellent customer service truly won me over.

I had an issue with the remote, within a month of purchase. It was not responding to the unit. I replaced the batteries and found that the device became non responsive. Issue was with the woofer system. I called Obage on their only customer care number that’s always busy. Finally got through the person and shared the video where the remote doesn’t work and the unit showing popping sounds. He agreed to send me a replacement woofer. I got a refurbished unit that looks like its been on someone’s shelf before being sent to me. Could see scratches and dirt. There’s still that popping sound and remote works. There’s no safety labeling nor anything on it that shows okay tested. Sounds a bit less in bass and treble compared to the original device. Bass seems non existent now. As an audiophile, I’m very disappointed with this purchase. I made a big mistake. I went with these YouTube videos. This is Not 100w as advertised because even my Zebronics 60w has better sound than this. Obviously this isn’t going to last and I will not be shopping any electronics on this platform ever again. The video is of the old product that stopped being responsive. The images/ photos are of the refurbished product that was sent. Complete waste of money. Invest in Sony or Panasonic, but buy directly from shop.

Bass is top notch and beyond expectations. I had used F&D 2.1 for long, but this Obage unit exceeded the quality of sound. Treble is 9 out of 10. Had it been a bit more crispy, I would have rated 10 on 10. But this is a value for money product for sure and most suitable for bedrooms of 150 – 200 sqft max.

Home theatre is good in this range. Sound is good. By using remote you can control bass , treble,eq mode. But it is not too loud. You can enjoy any song , or you can connect with tv and feel like theatre experience. Bluetooth connectivity is also good within few seconds it’s connected. But one thing I don’t like you can control all things only with remote only few options available in theatre itself.
