   Great to use and superfast to heat and use readily. But I already knew when I was buying about only known drawbacks – that is the short cord length and issue of entire thing getting heated up on boiling water. So one will have to handle that with caution when hot and buy it if you have a closer plug point (16A, large pin).

   Good product from Philips. Boils water very quickly. Cord length can be a bit more. Easy to use, just fill water as per markings inside and turn on the switch, you will get boiling water in under a minute. Do be cautious handling it or while pouring the water once boiled as it gets VERY hot and can scald you.

   It is lightweight and gives premium look
   Plastic parts are of good quality
   Even if you boil water, outer part do not heat up so much as to burn your hands
   8 year kid can independently handle the kettle

   I have been using this kettle for the past four years and can confidently say that it is absolutely perfect.
   What are the things to keep in mind while buying an electric kettle
   1. This one is an absolute bliss. Heats quickly enough to give you hot water. Do not fill it up to the brim. That’s true for any kettle.
   2. Good handle to hold and pour. The design is very very useful to hold the kettle and pour water. The handle is wide enough for you to have a good grip. Now this handle is so smartly designed that people of all age groups can use. Its length varies from top to bottom so depending on who’s using it, it will be easier to hold on to.
   3. Good steel quality – There are lots of STEEL kettles there. But you need to ensure that the steel is food grade. This one is. It makes a big difference in price. Always buy food grade steel.
   4. The heating base is rock solid. Touch wood. The base is as good as new even after four years. The kettle once properly cleaned also looks as good as new.
   5. Switch design is smart – The switch design is so smart that you can operate this kettle with just one hand. Use the thumb to switch it on and off while holding the kettle.

   This product is so good value for money when you look at how long it lasts. How well it lasts as compared to other brands. One may choose a less expensive kettle but the compromises will be big.

   Last but not the least. You have to look at safety also.
   1. There are plastic parts in kettle which also need to be food grade. This plastic is food grade. That is why unlike many other cheap electric kettles, this kettle does NOT smell of plastic.
   2. Good electrical insulation – Another thing to keep in mind is the electrical insulation which is very important. Some cheap electric kettles might not have good insulation. So be careful about that.

   I agree that wire length could have been more but that’s not the deal breaker at all for the absolutely amazing kettle Philips has designed.
