Iron is intact and seems ok physically , but not getting heated properly , clothes are not getting ironed properly.
Done complaint many times , but no response from the Philips service centre. Even Amazon staff is also not putting this issue with the vendor. Loosing trust in doing the purchase from Amazon.
Really disappointed with this purchase and definately force me to search for alternate options for future purchase.
As far as support after sales is subjected to this purchase. Philips service centre deployed the technician twice at my place , in first visit technician claimed that iron is perfect and nothing is bad in it . Somehow he convinced the family member but actually iron was not heating up. On repeatative complaints they have replaced the sole plate of the iron if I am not wrong and assured that now it is ok and you will not have any problem further. But unfortunately in very first hour of uses after repair , my whole house electricity for tripped because of the earth fault in this electric iron . Luckily my house wiring is backed up from RCCB which protect the user for an electrical shock. Else things can be understood by you all. Now iron is again with the service centre on our request on piece to piece replacement they are very rude and even now forcing us to pick the repaired iron from service centre , may be in future they will force us to drop it to the service centre for repairs . Since we have paid the amount so now they are having an upper edge and they feel they can treat the customer like anything.
I request Amazon to take up this matter with the vendor very seriously and get reaolved the issue . Else I am least bothered about the money part , but I will take up the matter in consumer court.
In last I would say the quality of Phillips product has gone down and they are charging the premium price on the basis of earlier quality.
Product can be defective and get it repaired or replaced but approch of the Philips service centre is really questionable and pathetic.

[Update – After 6 months of use] I wish I had bought something else. Because every now and then it will end up leaking completely onto your clothes or onto the ironing board. I’ve used many steam irons before. But unless used in precise ways, this thing is built for leaking. If you are willing to spend more, look elsewhere. This has actually brought down my impression of Philips products as a whole.

[Update] After using it a couple of times, I realized that the trick to using it as a steam iron is to not tilt the thing until its fully heated. It then works Ok as an iron. Any hasty move, and the iron immediately switches to faucet mode.

    The Good:
    – It’s an excellent way to water your plants, perform libation, wet your clothes, or to perform any activity which needs liquids being poured over other stuff.
    – Unit seems to be only available in pink. Some may say it’s a bad thing. But most watering cans are only available in green or yellow, so I’m thinking this is a good thing. (Plants may not be able to see in color, but they are people too.)

    The Bad:
    – For some reason, it seems to heat water. This may damage natural plants and melt artificial ones.
    – Sporadically, it heats water so much that you may get steam instead of water. So, if all you were wanting to do, was wet a piece of cloth, you may accidentally end up ironing it instead. I for one, like most people, prefer my clothes wet and wrinkly.
    – I was surprised that despite only being a defective watering can, my unit was still consuming 1440 Watts. I consulted several universities and did some hasty research. I concluded that this unit was actually breaking down water at a molecular level and then re-constituting everything into water just before it poured it out. I’m no scientist, but even a two year old can tell that this is more than twice of what a 700 Watt unit would consume, to do the same task.

This product is so good that it has firmly established Philips as a great brand for gardening products. I wish Amazon recommended a good fertilizer to go with it.

It’s been 9 years and still it’s working fine. I have not seen any product like that. Unbelievable build quality and quality. I will recommend everyone go blindly with this.

This arrived on April 2 and has stopped working.
I cannot raise a complaint even though there is a 2 year warranty.
