Love it. I have paired this with IKEA ÅRSTID
Floor lamp, and it works great.

Can be easily setup using WizV2 app both from Android or iOS. You can control this from multiple mobile as well. Can Be paired with Google Home app as well, although it doesn’t have many features as compared to the native Wiz app. Couldn’t pair it with Siri from iPhone so not sure if that’s possible.

Quite bright, but since I am usign it in a lamp, it doesn’t lighten the whole room. Would require 3 lamps to properly illuminate an average sized room.

App can also do many types of automation.

Good but it makes a noise in white cool light mode. Warm light is ok, the other one makes a noise. I am keeping it because I need the warm light. There is flickering, but I thinks it’s little lesser. It has tilt option but it could have been better if i could point it to the cealing for better light dispersing than direct pointing down. Installation is ok, little tricky as it keeps rotating. Just an ok light, fine for my use case which is warm yellow light.

Date of Order :1st Jan 2025

5th Jan 25 : I got this product as I needed another bulb for dim light, but the room had only one bulb holder. Got the product the next day of ordering.

The product came without any amazon packing and was not inside any package. It was handed over by the delivery guy as if he picked from a shop and then delivered.

Overall, the product seems useful. Comes with 2 years warranty, Philips was quick in responding to warranty related queries.

Installed the Wiz application, turned on Bluetooth in mobile and was able to configure the device in around 5-10 mins without any external guidance, the instructions in the box was enough.

The app seems to be working well, the color modes and styles seem to work well with the app. I don’t have Google or Alexa integration and don’t need it to sync with music. The device works via IOT and multiple mobile devices can be configured to control it, there is a sharing feature available. I loved the app, it works smoothly, easy to operate, have many configurable options, and is easy to use.

Brightness is OK for a 10W bulb, I felt it is slightly lower than or equivalent to the Philips 9W I was using earlier, but it does the job.

It has been just 5 days, will give more updates with videos.

There are no issues in using it, also has ample light, but at first there were some connectivity issues with app and wifi, also it doesnt have rgb light, only cool and warm, and intensity can be adjusted.

Buy with caution. Out of 4, 3 didn’t work with my mobile. Issue – I couldn’t connect. One I could connect but every time I switch off in the night and switch on tomorrow evening I get issues either in connecting them back or sometimes not able to connect. Mobile app is clumsy. Also the 3 which I am not able to connect do not work properly means I am trying to use them as ordinary light but get dim suddenly every couple of minutes and I need to re switch on them. Overall pathetic experience. Their customer support is also useless.

I have used Wipro and Helea LED bulbs. Apart from those I have also seen a few other brands in action. However, nothing beats Philips in terms of actually calling this a “smart” product.

For starters, this operates like a normal bulb, by default. There’s no WiFi pairing or anything until you turn it off-on three times. It turns on as a normal bulb and with every subsequent off-on immediately, changes between warm and cool. This is already a plus point over other brands that have default mode as WiFi pairing and keep blinking until you set ut up. Of course, you’d say there’s no issue after you have set it up right? That’s where you are wrong and where my second point comes in.

You see almost all other bulbs that I have used, you have to keep the light switch on. You can turn off the bulb via IoT, but in order for it to turn on, WiFi must be connected, therefore power must be on. If someone switches it off (like when you are leaving the room you switch everything off), it loses the WiFi connection. These other bulbs lose their settings and forget everything after a few hours. If you switch it on after even a couple of hours, they start blinking and won’t stop blinking until you set them up again. Frankly speaking I was feeling more dumb than “smart” with those products around.
This Philips bulb does not forget the settings. I have tested for 8+ hours with switch off, and almost within a minute of turning it on again, the bulb is WiFi connected and can be turned on via the app. It also remembers the last power state, so it will not turn on automatically after switching it on from the wall. I usually keep the switches on, but now even if someone switches them off accidentally, it’s not a pain in the butt anymore.

I also would like to point out how well the Wiz system integrates with evrrything else. You can setup IFTTT applets and use them to control the bulbs. I have a Samsung phone so I use smart things, and have a widget on my homescreen with 6 different scenes. I just tap on the button and it turns on or changes both the lights in my room within 2 seconds. I can control both the color temperature and brightness with those applets, it’s a lifesaver to just dim the lights immediately when you wanna watch a movie while working, and vice-versa.

Setup is a bit tricky if you have 5GHz WiFi, and don’t have separate SSID for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I faced this exact issue with setting up another 9W Philips Wiz bulb a while ago for someone else, and I forgot all about it and faced the same issue this time. The app just refuses to find or connect with the bulb when you are on WiFi 5GHz. I had to setup after connecting my phone to bulb WiFi AP, then use mobile data on my phone to load the app (which requires internet btw) and only setup 1 bulb at a time.
Then I tried disabling 5GHz on my router temporarily, and now was able to setup both devices in the normal way. Afterwards, I enabled 5GHz and did not notice any issues with normal operations of the bulb. It seems like disabling 5GHz is the only way to easily setup the bulbs. Of course all this does not apply if you have separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs (which you shouldn’t anyway).

Overall I think the device is worth extra few bucks over some cheaper other models. Brightness is decent and one 20W unit is almost equal to a full 4 feet tubelight.

I can also vouch for Philips warranty replacement process which I had taken earlier on a different bulb. All I had to do was send a photo of the bulb along with the invoice to their support email, and they asked me for my shipping address and sent a new one.

Bad packaging. It works well but if you have iPhone it doesn’t work with Apple Home. You need to add shortcuts. Just a heads up.

Otherwise, I find it hard to get it to work sometimes. Network issues apart from that it’s a good product and I like the colors.
