PLEASE DONT BUY . READ THE REVIEW TO UNDERSTAND WHY
[...]I thought pigeon was reliable brand when it comes to kitchen appliances but i am utterly wrong.
Brewing was good, machine was so strong even tho it is build with plastic . no issues with wiring as well .
so the MAIN problem is with carafe , no matter how gentle you use it , it will break without your mistake.
but again how do you expect a glass jar to last so long when you use day in and day out right. so i thought ok may be i hit something so it got broken(Without my knowledge). now comes REAL trouble there is no proper service help line or proper channel to raise a complaint or order new carafe . so the thing is i could used other third party carafe or other coffee mug or something to collect the coffee but the drip machine is designed in such a way it only works with pigeon branded carafe and we can not order one . not the whole machine is useless. pigeon if you are reading this please provide good after sales service .

It’s inexpensive but not very useful. The material used is of cheap quality. The qty of coffee that one brew is small for the time it takes. If you want a cheap-quick substitute for some time then only go for it. If you break the carafe, and there is a high chance you would given the material used, the replacement is not easy to buy; and even if you find one it costs 2/3 the price of the entire machine. I am therefore asking is it really worth it?

I was skeptical while purchasing. To my surprise product is very good except glass pot. Glass pot is made of cheap glass and very thin. Due to my negligence, glass pot is damaged. Using some workaround and still making use of coffee

This little coffee maker, in my opinion, shouldn’t cost more than Rs.500.
Why?
1. It’s very slow. It takes 30 minutes to make 2.5 cups of coffee. When it is on, the heating filament “over heats” every 3 minutes, then stops working for 3 minutes and the resumes again. This cycle is more prominent after 3 cups of water on the see through level indicator
2. It is very inefficient. I filled 5 cups (the machine max) of water and I got only 2.5 cups in the carafe. The other 2.5 cups went away as steam in its delay time
3. Weak plastic build. I won’t hold this against Pigeon, because after all it is cheap.
4. Water dripping from the top-side. The plastic isn’t steam insulated, so water does occasionally drip down the edges.
Overall, if you value quality output then look elsewhere. This product is good for absolute first timers who have no idea what a coffee maker is – break a few carafes, wait patiently, use ground coffee beans, etc.
If you’ve used a coffee machine in any form before, steer clear. This machine isn’t worth it.

Fast; easy to use, clean; convenient; light. I use it for just 02 cups of decoction coffee. For best results, use 1/3 rd decoction coffee and 2/3rd milk. I had also bought the Continental brand Malgudi Filter Coffee from Amazon Fresh which is 80% coffee and 20% chicory. The decoction (2cups) was ready in a flat 02 mins. Very well brewed decoction filter coffee. With added milk and sugar to taste, that’s the best coffee I’ve tasted at home. There were no dregs of coffee in the mixture. I did not check if there was an auto-off feature but turned off the switch manually as soon as the machine started gurgling for water and the level indicator by the side of the machine showed zero. Remember to store the carafe with the mixture away from the machine after the decoction is ready. After the contents if the carafe are emptied, let it cool down completely before cleaning it. The other removable plastic parts also need to be cleaned daily. Also drain out any remaining water in the tank of the machine. So far so good. Hope the machine which is of fragile build made mostly of plastic parts except the heating pad which is made of metal, lasts for a long time.
