Got it as a complete newbie but the film sims and image quality is great and so is the film grain effect, paired with the kit lens or the sigma 18-50 f2.8 its really great, super portable, quick to use. You just need to understand how it works and how camera’s really function but for the price its super amazing although you need good grip strength to hold the thing as its so small and compact and I did initially (I got it as a impulse purchase) think is this a scam or something cause its so small but it is so powerful and honestly its about how you use it, and the images speak for themselves. maybe get a small rig handle like I have to make it more easier to use and the ease of use is amazing as I’ve not opened a single editing software and just took pics as JPEG’s and transferred them to my phone and that’s it nothing else and in my opinion I would prefer this to any Sony cause this is actually a camera I can use everyday and something that integrates seamlessly into daily life.

Lovely small camera- excellent pictures. Easy access dial for colour scheme selection is very useful.
[...]Absence of viewfinder is a miss- but at this price point, perhaps okay. A built-in flash for full-ins would also be nice.
Overall, a lovely little and versatile camera. Delivers excellent images with easy access to Fuji’s legendary colour science.

Compact, great image clarity

The camera is nice. Feels cheap in the hands but I managed to take some excelent photos. It’s made entirely out of plastic. The autofocus could be better

I’ve received an instruction manual in German. I’m based in Belgium and i was expecting to get one in English and/or French

The Fujifilm XM-5 is the smallest mirrorless camera I’ve ever used, making it an absolute joy for street photography. Paired with a 27mm pancake lens, it forms a beautifully discreet setup that’s perfect for capturing candid moments without drawing attention. The film simulations are a highlight, offering fun and creative options for achieving distinct looks right in-camera. As someone who still uses Lightroom, I appreciate how these simulations can streamline editing for those who prefer a quicker workflow.
That said, the price is a significant drawback—full retail feels steep for the XM-5’s features. I strongly recommend waiting for a discount to make it a worthwhile investment. Despite the cost, its compact size and versatile film simulations make it a fantastic choice for photographers prioritizing portability and creative flexibility in their street shooting.
