I bought this 2 years ago and found it to be great! I recently purchased another for my mother in law to replace her old one after 20+ years. The heat distributes quickly, and best of all, it just doesn’t stick at all! The handle stays cool and the tawa itself is nice and thick, so you know it won’t wear out anytime soon. High quality and a good buy overall

This is an excellent product. It is non stick, flat about 12 inch size which is good for a homemade dosa. I have been using it almost everyday since I purchased it and it is working very well. The only thing I cannot say for sure is its durability of the non stick characteristics. Hopefully it will last a reasonable period.

People cribbing here for it not being non-stick, who even told you it’s gonna be?
Read the product description very carefully.
This is a hard anodised steel tawa. More or less a steel tawa with more robust finish.

    Coming to the product itself
    – Read the manual, do exactly as it says. Heat the pan to desired temperature ac to the dish and only then put oil and start cooking on it. The hotter the tawa, the less oil it’ll need.
    – This is not Teflon so it needs oil. You need to oil the dosas after spreading the batter, not necessarily in between 2 dosas.
    – If you’re fed up of buying Teflon (aka non-stick) tawas or pans and replacing them every 8-10 months, this is the material for you.
It has an even thick base. Heats uniformly. Gives dosas their crisp and metallic taste that non-stick pans just can’t (trust me, I make dosa like 5 days a week).
    – It needs maintainence like any other anodised utensil. Clean it after it cools down (which usually takes a while) with a wire scrubber. Don’t let the grease accumulate. Don’t use more than once without washing it first. Care for it just enough and it can last you a lifetime.

Been using it for 8 months, still looks the way it did when it arrived.

Update: Been using it for 3yrs. Some scratches on, some grease accumulated bc of leaving it at the hands of maid and one of the screws of handle came off which I did put back myself. Apart from it, I have moved twice and had 4 cooks. Not one of them could stop raving about this tawa. STAR OF MY KITCHEN.

I returned this product because it is small. It says 26 cm. But 2 cm is sloping edge which cannot be used. I already have 28 cm concave hard anodized tawa from the same brand which I am using it for making dosa. The best features of this product are
    * It looks new even after several years (My 28 cm tawa still looks new)
    * Metal ladle can be used
    * No seasoning is required. Just heat the tawa for 90 seconds in high flame. Apply oil. Simmer. Now your tawa is ready for making dosa.
    * Unlike iron tawa, you can wash this everyday after use
    * Unlike nonstick tawa that is harmful to health, this one is perfectly healthy.
    * Most important of all “the tawa heats evenly and there is no burning of dosa in the center”.
    * Easy to maintain and store. No rusting. Longevity guaranteed.
    * Except for the slipperiness when using on gas stove, I can’t think of any downside.
Go for 28 cm tawa, if you are buying to make dosa.

The media could not be loaded.

This tava is worst, you just spread any batter on this it will not come out. Either you grease it well or not, It just stick on the tava like i spread the batter after applying Fevicol on it first. Please don’t by this it is of no use i just wasted my money on this. It is very very bad to use.
