It is a nice product. Value for money. Second time I purchased the Voltas window AC 1.5 ton and it is working perfectly fine. Easy to install and uninstall as we are living in a rented accommodation.

Product is good but the power cable is short it should be 1.25 mtrs. Cooling capacity and the noise levels are very good. Front plastic grill is very delicate .

I wanted to purchase a Window AC for my kids room, and was looking to buy it online, one of my motivation was to get the AC as cheap as possible while not sacrificing quality much. Now since this AC will be used mostly only during the night hence I was not looking for 5 Star rated AC, since the cost would have gone much up and from my experience of both 3 & 5 Star rated ACs savings are only in the range of Rs. 200-Rs. 300. This same model in 5 Star costs Rs. 28500 which is almost Rs. 5000 more than what I paid for this model. So it would have taken more than a few years to recover the difference.

    NOTE:
@ Max Power consumption is rated at 1752 Watt compared to 1540 Watt of 5 star Rated model of same product. 3/5 star Split ACs are in the same range as well Power Consumption wise.
@ This means if you use 5 star model for 5-6 hours daily, then you will save approx. Rs.300 monthly compared to 3 star rated model.
@ 5 star model costs Rs. 5000 more than this.

    Pros:
    1) Product is 3 star rated which is decently efficient as well as Budget friendly.
    2) Coil is Copper, which is best to have in AC.
    3) Compressor is rotary.
    4) AC is comparatively silent than the claimed 56 dBA but I believe this might be owing to Installation skills as well, :) (In this case, I did it, I am a hobbyist, so have all the tools and skills to do the installation)
    5) Cooling is pretty efficient and does not take more than a few minutes to cool the whole room.

    Cons:
    1) Refrigerant used is R-22, which is HCFC and causes Ozone Depletion. However is very readily available for refilling.
    2) Service?
    3) Brand Name?

ACs are meant for cooling which this particular AC is doing sufficiently well. However its the service which keeps an AC in top functioning order, so will update this review as soon as I deal with Voltas service department in a few months.

Thank You for reading this review.

I bought a Voltas air conditioner a few days ago, and unfortunately, it hasn’t lived up to expectations. While the cooling is okay at times, it’s inconsistent and struggles during hotter days. The unit also started making noise within the first few days, which was disappointing.

Read carefully. This could happen to you.

Got the AC delivered promptly by Amazon. Due to Lockdown, as no outsiders are permitted inside our condominium, asked the maintenance team who stay within the society to install it. They did a fine job but when it was turned on the LED indicator just blinked and didn’t respond to the remote or manual input. The technician said it was defective. So I pay the guys once for installation of the Voltas AC and the to remove it and reinstall my old AC. Bye bye Rs. 1,500/-.

I then went to Amazon.com and asked for a replacement. They connected me to their tech help section who called back promptly. They said that I should first get in touch with Voltas and have them instal it. Only if they certify it to be faulty will they replace it. They gave the Voltas care phone number.

I logged on to Voltas care as I couldn’t get connected to the number and requested for installation. Then I got several txt messages from them including a “Activation Number’. After follow up with the local Voltas folks they sent across a couple of men. For this I had to beg and plead with the society folks. I explained everything to these technicians, including the blinking lights, and they told me to relax and that they would take care of it.

They installed the AC and when the blinking lights came on they asked me for the “Activation Code”. What followed left me aghast with my jaw open. They promptly punched in the code and ‘voila’ the AC started working.

Now I have two major concerns: 1) Nowhere in the Amazon listing nor the Voltas users manual do they say that the AC must be installed by Voltas? 2) Why is the Activation Code not mentioned in the Users Manuel?

Anyway, to save Rs. 1,500/- bank interest I bought from amazon but in the end spent Rs. 4,000/- to get it installed and working.
